Well it's not the way you planned it so you don't understand it anymore, no Planted flowers in your garden but now you have forgotten what they are Don't forget to Don't forget to Don't forget to Don't go Run a flag up every mountain just for those who doubted who you were And in canyons and in valleys you've hidden and you've buried all you own
2.
The Ship 03:37
Now the ship has sailed Now the ship has sailed To some other beautiful harbor To some other port in the storm She raises her mast The wind is her breath As she gracefully sails the sea Now the ship has sailed Now the ship has sailed We stand on the shore to watch her And applaud as she sails away As strong in the storm as she is in the calm Steady, strong and true Now the ship has sailed Now the ship has sailed I remember her anchored in the harbor and covered with birds While the waves crashed around her still she sat on top of the world Now the ship has sailed Now the ship has sailed

Seasons change After the rains you've seen You sure think you deserve a little sun I'll get by cause I remember times just living loud and singing songs Love you more in the spring when my frozen heart can sing And I hope today that summer never comes Love you more in the fall after the heat of it all and I hope today that winter never comes Yes I hope today that winter never comes And I know too That all of the things I do Are telling me to stay another day I'll be fine cause I know sun will shine and carry all this grey away. People got their reasons Me I've got my seasons
4.
How does your hair fall So perfect each time And how do we get to the same place, same time I never was a man who had a winning first line I knew when I saw you I had to make you mine How can a smle weaken a man's heart and how do we get where we were at the start So dance with me darlin' I'll spin you around The world will stop turning You won't hear a sound How does your hair fall so perfect each time and how do we get to the same place, same time
5.
Little sugar maple growing up tall Down falls a branch and it kills them all Well you couldn't no you couldn't have seen it coming When you leave this world you can't take nothing at all When you leave this world you can't take nothing at all I was undertaken by the undertow Water starts to rise and the wind began to blow Well I could have yeah I could have seen it coming When the rooster crows the third time you know it's time to go When the rooster crows the third time you know it's time to go Forty barefoot children throwing their stones While forty kings of business ascend to the throne Well we should have yeah we should have seen it coming Cause when cash is king you're losing everything Yeah when cash is king you're losing everything
6.
Love It wasn't ours But it was the kind of love for which you would die Love It wasn't ours It wasn't ours I know what you're gonna say before it ever leaves your mouth And I know how you haven't felt In way too many months I know what you used to be And it isn't who you are I know what you're gonna say And it's killing me If you don't ask I won't have to break your heart If you don't ask I won't have to break your Heart Love It wasn't ours But it was the kind of love for which you would die Love It wasn't ours It wasn't ours If you don't ask I won't have to break your heart If you don't ask I won't have to break your Heart

About the wisest man I ever met A man whose name I don't recall Only met him once or twice I guess Never really knew the man at all He said son don't ever say goodbye To someone you hope to see again He just shook my hand and said I'll see you in a while He just smiled and said try this instead of saying goodbye Just say So long friend until we meet again cause I know it's not our time to say goodbye Just say So long friend until we meet again cause I know it's not our time to say goodbye Always swore that I would write it down And tell my friends just how I feel But someday turned into yesteryear A million sunsets away from here Now I never ever say goodbye to someone I hope to see again I just shake their hand and say see you in a while I just smile and I say this instead of saying goodbye Just say So long friend until we meet again cause I know it's not our time to say goodbye Just say So long friend until we meet again cause I know it's not our time to say goodbye

about

On Tuesday, January 24th, my mother suffered a major stroke and passed away. She was seemingly in great health, an active hiker and snowshoer. This was just days before 'the plan' had me and my friends recording a new Gunther Brown album. Plans change. The day after she passed, I wrote a song in her memory (The Ship) and thought it important that I keep the studio time and record this song for her. The time in the studio would result in 7 songs which I am releasing as a way to raise money for the American Cancer Society. While mom was taken by a stroke, the doctors told us that it was brought on by a large tumor on her brain. Her mother - my grandmother - was taken by cancer at the early age of 65. So, now here I am, looking at a pretty legit family history of cancer. It's everywhere. It effects everyone. I hope, in this small way, to help.

Given the personal nature of this new recording, I've decided to release, The Ship, under my name rather than under the Gunther Brown banner. I hope you'll check it out and purchase it.

about

Pete Dubuc Portland, Maine

"'The Ship' will tear your heart out with its honesty.

"...an emotional ride, one of great testimony to love, relationships and death."

"In a world where new musicians seem to be trying every little trick in the book to get noticed, Dubuc's style is a welcome, simple one."
